A bathtub can go into a new BTO bathroom without hacking. Here is how to check what fits, what it costs, and what other BTO owners chose.

Just got the keys to your BTO? Good news. A bathtub can fit, and you don't need to hack anything.
What decides it is your longest clear wall, with no door swing, toilet or vanity in the way. It should be 10 to 20cm longer than the tub. And HERA's smallest bathtubs are just 80cm long.
You can check the fit in 10 minutes. First, measure that longest clear wall. Note which way the door swings, and where the floor trap, water heater and shower mixer sit. Pour a kettle of water into the floor trap. If it drains, a HERA bathtub can drain there too. Measure every doorway from the lift to the bathroom, height as well as width. Then tape the tub's outline on the floor, open the door, and walk around it.
No hacking needed. The tub stands on your tiles and drains into the floor trap you already have, so your new waterproofing stays untouched. A built-in tub is different. Its tiling and pipework usually add S$1,500 to S$3,000.
It can go in after your renovation, as the very last item. Installation takes about 30 to 45 minutes, and if you move, it comes with you.
HERA has installed bathtubs in hundreds of BTO projects. On our website, you can see real installs from BTO projects like yours.

A floor area tells you little, because BTO bathrooms differ by flat type, project and whether it is the common or master bathroom. The number that decides it is the longest stretch of wall with nothing in the way: no door swing, no toilet, no vanity.
That wall should be 100 to 200mm longer than the tub, which leaves 50 to 100mm each side for cleaning. An 800mm tub needs about 900 to 1000mm of clear wall; a 1200mm tub needs about 1300 to 1400mm.

Measure your longest clear wall in millimetres, from the corner to the door frame or the nearest fixture.Aim for 100 to 200mm more wall than the tub is long.

Note what moves the tub: which way the door swings, and where the floor trap, water heater and shower mixer sit.

Do the kettle test: pour water into the floor trap. If it drains, a HERA bathtub can drain there too.

Measure each doorway from the lift lobby to the bathroom. Compare it with the tub's height as well as its width.

Mark the footprint on the floor with tape, using the tub's outer size, then open the door and walk around it.
Then run the fit calculator, which lists the HERA models that fit, or send the numbers on WhatsApp and the team will recommend a size.

No. Every HERA bathtub is freestanding and drains through a flexible outlet into the floor trap your bathroom already has. Your new floor finish and waterproofing stay untouched.
A built-in tub is different: it sits in a tiled apron with its own waterproofing and pipes set into the floor and walls, work that usually adds S$1,500 to S$3,000 on top of the tub. A freestanding tub skips all of that, which is why it suits a bathroom you have just received from HDB.
Because a HERA bathtub needs no tiling, plumbing or waterproofing work, it does not have to be scheduled around your contractor. It can go in after the renovation is finished and the bathroom is clean, as the last item in the room.
Installation takes about 30 to 45 minutes: two installers carry the tub from the lift, place it, connect the drain and run a leak test. If you move later, it disconnects and comes with you.
HDB unit doors are typically around 80 to 90cm wide, and bathroom doors are often narrower, sometimes 70cm. Standard HERA sizes pass through standard doorways, and the compact models stand 580 to 680mm tall.
If your corridor has a tight turn, measure it and send us the numbers before you order.

Yes. A HERA freestanding bathtub connects to the bathroom's existing floor trap with a flexible outlet, so the new floor finish and waterproofing are not touched. There is no hacking, tiling or plumbing change.
No. Nothing is drilled into or laid under the floor. The tub stands on the tiles and drains into the floor trap the bathroom already has, so the waterproofing under the tiles stays as HDB handed it over.
